UNBURDENING!!

Unburdening!

Verse for Today: Wednesday, April 04, 2012

Luke 13:11 – A woman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not straighten up at all.

There are many people around us who are crippled because of the pressures of various problems which haunt them. These pressures are such that they bend them over and will not allow them to straighten themselves up. There are burdens of family, children, finances, failures, sickness, attacks from the enemy, oppression by the bosses and emotional setbacks of various kinds which bend people down. Their spirits are sagged and are often plunged into despondency and depression. These burdens cripple our bodies, emotions and spirits and thwart us of the joy of the Lord which is our strength to live here on earth. The Lord wants us to cast all our cares on Him rather than carry it ourselves. He is willing to carry our burdens for us if we are committed to Him and willing to cast it all on Him. The world comes to offer its expertise to give us relief from our burdens, but only gives us cosmetic escape from the burdens. The more we go the way of the world to alleviate our burdens, the more burdensome we become because the expertise of the world is to humanize our burdens through explanations and symptomatic treatments. But Jesus comes to take our burdens away and give us release. He wipes away our past failures and helps us to start on a fresh note. We can cast all our burdens on Him who bears it for us. He gives us the grace to face our situations and find spiritual solutions to burdens. He lifts us up and makes us bold in our encounter with our burdens. He strengthens us to give up what we need to give up and forsake our past ways. He helps us to confess our failures, get out of our wrong ways and start with Him afresh according to His plans for us. Today Jesus confirms to us that there is no use carrying our burdens ourselves and that all our burdens can be lifted up in His presence.

Dear reader, are you a burdened soul today and finding it difficult to lift up your head and straighten up your back because of the heaviness of your heart? Today the Lord wants you to know that you do not have the capacity to carry your burdens and that they will cripple you physically, emotionally and spiritually. If you keep carrying these burdens, you will bend down and will not be able to lift up your head. You cannot walk forward with your head and back bent down. But your Lord doesn’t want you to bend down to your problems and failures, but to bend down to Jesus only in worship. There is no need to bend down in fear to the failures of life. If you cast all burdens on Jesus, He will release you from the heaviness that is on you. He will carry your burdens and solve your problems. He will straighten you up. Your impossible situations will be turned to great possibilities through His power. No matter how deep a pit you are in today, He will lift you up. It doesn’t matter how horrible your past failures have been because your Lord can turn your endeavors into success. If your failures and defeats have been because you have violated God’s principles, you will have the opportunity to confess it to Him. He will then wipe away all your sins of omissions and commissions and straighten out yourself and your pathways. So dear reader, take your burdens to the Lord and leave it all at the foot of the cross. Unburden yourself in His presence today and enjoy a life of freedom and joy.

Psalms 55:22 – Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous fall.

Thought for Today

When our Lord is ready, willing and capable of carrying our burdens, it is utterly meaningless for us to carry it ourselves.
